Where's the unity?

Sometimes it is easier to find Canadian identity in the landscape if you know where to look. The national symbol of the maple leaf is embedded in our culture to represent our body and soul as to what it means to be Canadian with in the landscape. Ironically the maple tree is only found in Ontario, and nowhere else in the country. So how does one red leaf represent the whole nation? Where or what is the unity across vast terrains, and cultures? Is it the maple leaf?
