Landscape and Painting

Where does the landscape today, place us if it is not beautiful or awe inspiring? It is easy to think of the iconic Canadian landscape to be defined as beautiful. A simple google search will tell you what you are too see. It is like looking at Facebook for example and the profile picture. The best selves are majority of the time presented in these stances, and I feel the same is placed in the context of the landscape. This ideology of the landscape is much older than the new media in 2017, but the social constructs are still very much alive. The link to Canadian landscape can be tied back to the group of seven and all though their perspective is too constructed, it is still very much valued today. Does this mean, if land is not beautiful, is it now devalued in its worth? And is it only devalued when it appears, humans have not altered or tamed it?
